So today we come home from work and find that our neighbor to the left (if looking at our house) planted two rows of white pines (just like us!) along the border between our properties. We were so excited because now we don't need to! That may sound like very unexciting stuff... but after working our tails off for hours in the cold planting this weekend, it's like a huge gift. :)

Why we are so sore...
Yesterday BJ and I planted 80 white pines along our back fence line. And now we ache.
You can also see one of our fruit trees off to the left - we're hoping to expand our little orchard this spring too! :) So far we have peaches and cherries.

IKEA Mania
For those of you who haven't heard the BIG NEWS... IKEA opened up here last week!! I told BJ that the best part would be all the visits from friends we'd get because of it... and that hope has already come true. :)
Chad, Rachel, Cory and her boyfriend Matt all came to Cincinnati this weekend to experience the grand opening (it actually opened last Wednesday - but it was still insane. :) It was pure madness, from the line of cars backed up onto 75 just to get on the exit ramp... to the police and staff directing cars into the packed lot... the long lines... and of course the so-cute-your-head-might-explode merchandise.
I'll post pictures if I can recover my crashed hard drive! :0

Last Night
3:45 am - I awake to find BJ walking around our bedroom in the dark waving a flashlight around the floor. He makes me aware of the chirping cricket (we feed them to our leapord geckos) that's happily chirping away somewhere on the carpet floor. The chirping stops. He gives up. We fall back asleep.
4:00 am - Chirp. Chirp Chirp. Chirp CHIRP Chirp. This time I get up. BJ hands me the flashlight and I start sifting through the pile of laundry the cricket has stowed himself in. The chirping stops. I go back to bed but this time lay there awake.
4:10 am - CHIRP. (long pause) CHIRP. (long pause) CHIRP. I jump out of bed, grab the flashlight and AHAH! locate the cricket on the bathroom floor.
4:11 am - Chirpy is flushed.
4:20 am - Back in bed, I lay awake trying to justify the flushing of the cricket. I tell myself it is stupid to feel bad about killing a bug that our lizards would have otherwise eaten alive. I tell myself drowning is a much better death.

The 'Reds' Room
Just in time for spring... we recently finished one of our spare rooms making it another space to hang out. We picked up the seating in the clearance area of Haverty's - a steal! I put up areas of chalkboard paint so BJ can keep track of stats (like march madness brackets) and painted the Cincinnati Reds logo on the far wall. It was quite a project!

We have so many pets now (5) that it's hard to keep their names straight! :) Annie's amping up the cute factor to ensure we don't forget about her. :)
